Zohal Express: From Delivery Startup to Trusted B2B Brand

A Case in the Process of Building B2B Brands

By Abdulrahman Zidan and Waldemar Pfoertsch

Zohal Express is a Jordan-based logistics startup founded in 2023 that demonstrates how disciplined execution can rapidly build a strong B2B brand. Rather than relying on promotion, the company positioned logistics as a strategic enabler of business continuity, focusing on speed, financial integrity, and professional service delivery.

Zohal Express is a logistics provider founded in Amman in 2023, drawing on expertise in land and air freight and designed from the start as a business enabler rather than a courier. Its core identity: it “protects operations, money, and trust — not just parcels.”

Keywords: B2B brand building, logistics brand, transparency, operational excellence, customer trust, brand promise, supply-chain partnerships

The challenge

The growth of e-commerce, omnichannel retail and professional services made logistics central to value creation. Delivery failures, delayed cash-on-delivery settlement and unprofessional last-mile interactions undermine merchants’ trust and reputation – and a new entrant had no reputation to trade on.

The strategy

The brand is built on a measurable promise – “Fast delivery. Clear procedures. Same-day settlement.” – with the vision of becoming Jordan’s most trusted B2B logistics partner. It targets sectors where logistics is mission-critical (e-commerce, publishing, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, specialty retail) and positions itself as protecting clients’ revenue and reputation.

The solution

Zohal structured its services into local express delivery, nationwide coverage, specialty handling for sensitive goods such as books, perfumes and medical items, and fast, transparent COD settlement – supported by real-time tracking, automated COD reporting, trained couriers who represent the client’s brand, client co-creation and consistent external branding.

The outcome

The case traces a phased path from foundation to capability building, market expansion and analytics-led optimisation, and sets out how the brand protects its momentum: training against courier inconsistency, finance audits, phased system roll-outs and predictive dispatch planning for peak seasons.

Learning objectives

  • Trace the brand-building process in a startup that had no reputation to trade on.
  • Explain how a brand promise becomes an operational control mechanism rather than a slogan.
  • Analyze same-day cash-on-delivery settlement as financial risk reduction for the client.
  • Evaluate the last-mile courier as a boundary spanner carrying two brands at once.
  • Identify the threats to brand consistency that accompany rapid geographic scaling.
